Running adsense ads on a high traffic website (or blog) can lead to some serious profit. A lot of people say that traffic is the most important thing here. And they’re right, but ad positioning is an important factor as well.
With the right ad positioning, you could increase your CTR (Click Through Rate) substantially & make a lot more money.
So, how can I know where I should place my ads to increase CTR?

So everyone is always talking about “the best ways to make money online” right?
Talking about the same thing gets kinda boring, that’s why I decided to dedicate a post on “the worst ways to make money online”.
Here goes:
Contender #1 – Get Paid to fill offers
Oh yeah, what a highly lucrative money making method. You fill in offers and earn a few cents while the website owner gets a dollar or 2. Well, let’s cut the crap, it is lucrative, for the GPT owner that is. Not for YOU!
You, my friend will only earn a few cents for an offer that you fill.
And before you say:
“But, if I fill in about 100-200 offers a day, then I can make a living online right?”
FORGET IT!
First of all, GPT websites will not allow you to complete 100s of offers every day.
Secondly, filling offers get’s boring & they pay you with peanuts.
And for the last point… You can NOT get rich by filling GPT offers. You can make only a few $$ per month, that’s it.
The only ones that can make some serious profit from this are the owners of the GPT websites. So if you’re interested in this line of work, open up your own GPT!
Contender #2 Get Paid to Search
When I was just starting out in my internet marketing journey, I stepped on a site that offered to pay people if they use their searching service.
Being the newbie that I was, I did and I started browsing with their search function instead of google’s…
I did about 50 searches (Real searches NOT fake searches)…
I logged into my account, clicked on my earnings and…
SHOOOOSH!! I earned a whopping $0.25!!!
So, if you want to earn that kind of money, be my guest. I know I don’t!
And before you get carried away…
The “Writing down something, hitting search, repeat“ process will not work. Once they see that your earnings are rising rapidly, they will ban your account.
Contender #3 Get paid to fill Surveys
I know people that their work involves surveys. But, they create surveys NOT fill them and most of them go door to door to get people to fill their surveys. That job does exist and yes, you can make a living from it.
BUT
I’ve NEVER heard of anyone who makes a living by filling in surveys on the internet. And you will probably never hear….
Some of these survey sites are free but some of them require you to pay a fee to join them (I wonder why?)
Anyway, I never did join the paid ones, so I really don’t know anything about them. But, in the past, I did join some of the free ones and they were nothing, just a waste of time.
Of course, even if you find a good one that does pay… you still won’t make a whole lot of money out of it because the surveys available will be slim to none.
There are other methods such as paid to surf etc… but I won’t share any opinion on those because I don’t know anything about them.
I am quite sure that they are incredibly [sarcasm] awesome [/sarcasm] though.

How To Make Money Online With Niche Sites
What is a niche site?
A niche site is a website, usually a blog that targets one particular niche.
Example?
This blog. Yes, this blog is a niche site that targets the internet marketing (make money online) niche.
How can I make money online by running a niche site?
Step 1) Choose a profitable niche & write down the keywords that you’re going to focus on mostly. You can head over to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ to find suitable keywords that are worth competing for.
Step 2) Buy a domain name and host it. It can be any domain name, but if you manage to find one with your keyword in it, then you will definitely find it easier to rank for that keyword on search engines.
Step 3) Download wordpress from here http://wordpress.org/download/ and install it on your server. As soon as you install it, you’ll quickly realize that the default theme sucks… So, make sure that you download another theme (free or paid) & apply it to your blog to attract more people.
Step 4) Add content, and lot’s of it. You can easily come up with new content by reading on other related blogs to get some ideas. Then all you have to do is write down a simple article that has some value. Don’t forget to write down your keywords in the article a couple of times so that you’ll have a keyword density of 2% or more. This will help you a lot with your search engine rankings.
Step 5) Add some affiliate, PPC ads to your blog and maybe an opt-in box to capture subscribers if you intend to build a list. You can do this yourself by toying around with the PHP code. You can hire someone. Or, you can simply download some plugins that will take care of the job. I’m talking about plug-ins such as “easy adsense”…
Step 6) All you have to do now is generate traffic. Start by bookmarking your niche site on technorati, digg, reddit, stumbleupon etc… Then submit your RSS feed to as many RSS directories as you can. In the meantime, keep on adding new posts on the blog & bookmark those post too. If you focus on quality content with good keyword density, and keep on bookmarking your blog to make it more popular, the search engines will start to favor you. And in time, organic traffic will start to follow.

Why do a lot of people that start a niche blog fail at making money online?
Because they give up to early… You will NOT start making money straight away with this method. This is more of a long term method & you will need to spend some time before you start earning good income.

So, we all hear those stories about “gurus” that make $1000 – $whatever$ DAILY by generating targeted traffic to their products (or affiliate products) from PPC networks such as adwords right?
If you started using adwords just recently, then you’re probably a little bit confused.
… am I right?
Well I don’t blame you. But I’ll tell you this. IT CAN BE DONE!
And yes, there are internet marketers that manage to earn $1000 or even much more than that every day just by using google adwords.

Let’s save the “How?!” for later and focus on this question first:
Do I need to be talented or experienced to make this happen?
Answer = NO!
You need 2 things:

Example: A guy makes $1000 from PPC.
Sure he does make that money but do you know how much he spends on google adwords to make that kind of income?
A guy like that will probably spend an average of $2000 on google adwords to make $3000. That’s how he makes $1000 daily…
But how many people can afford paying $2000 daily?
Not a whole lot.
If you already have some money, then bringing in MORE money with adwords won’t be a problem for you if you have some common sense and some basic math skills.
Find the:
Commision/Earnings of the product that you’re going to promote.
Conversion Rate of the salespage.
CPC of the keyword that you’re going to use to bring in traffic.

Commision/Earnings = $47
Conversion Rate = 5%
CPC = $2
You pay $200 to buy 100 clicks with adwords.
5% of those 100 buy the product
5x$47 = $235

So, in this scenario, we will earn $35 if we spend $200 on adwords. It’s that simple.
If you invest $200 daily, you will earn $235 daily, which is $35 profit.
Now how de we earn more money?
By investing more money! If you’re not earning money from somewhere else, then save the money that you earn from adwords and reinvest them in it.
END OF STORY!
That’s exactly how the big boys make money online via google adwords.
They do not have any more knowledge than you, they just have more dough to invest than you do that’s all!
Never Made Any Money Online? Try Using CPA Offers & Video Marketing!
Even a complete newbie can cash in with this simple method…
First off, you’ll need sign up with some CPA networks such as:
Regsiter with them & wait for them to accept you. As soon as they accept you, sign in and search for CPA offers that pay good & have good conversion rates.
Let’s say that you choose a ringtone offer, this will be perfect for this method. Copy your affiliate link on a notepad file and save it. Buy a domain name similar to the offer (a .info domain will do just fine) and make sure that you redirect it to the offer.(It’ll be better if you mask it as well)
So now we have a domain name that redirects to the affiliate offer .
Go to www.youtube.com and make an account. Then all you have to do is make a video.
Now this is usually the part where most people get stuck, but believe me, it’s not that difficult. You can:
1) Outsource (If you have some money, then you can go to elance or to the warriors for hire section on www.warriorforum.com & get a professionally custom made video).
But, that option is usually not that easy for niewbies (since they don’t have a lot of money). So in that case, we use method number 2:
2) Do it yourself with camtasia or windows movie maker, believe me it’s much easier than you think. Earlier on we said that we chose a ringtone offer right? Then in this case, all you have to do is find a music video, edit it a little & write down your url at the end of the video. You just say something like”If you want free ringtones, you can go to www.yourredirectedurlx.com .
I don’t know if you can do this with windows movie maker, but camtasia also allows you to place your url anywhere on the video as a watermark!
Anyway, when you finish it, go to youtube and upload it.
Getting traffic to a video?
The video will pretty much generate traffic on it’s own if you do these right:
Title – Choose a long title with your keywords in it
Description - Make a very long description with all your keywords in it. (don’t forget to add your url here also. Add it on top, leave some space and add the description below)
Tags – Create as many tags as you can!
Thumbnail – Choose a good thumbnail so that it can attract people.
You can also submit thew video to social bookmarking sites like www.digg.com, www.delicious.com etc… to increase its ranking on search engines.
And that’s all there is to it.
